After 5 Days in Kyiv for Євро Майдан, and an interesting trip back on the night train- 3rd class ticket. At first I thought I was lost in Kyiv, but stumble upon the train station, then asking people for directions to my platform in Ukrainian. I almost missed my train by a few minutes. I had one guy running down the platform with me, helping me onto the train. I offered chocolate to the people near my bed in the carriage and everyone then offering their food to me. Even one guy trying to give me a slice of bread off his sandwich. Flippin love Ukrainians.
The train starts moving but no air is moving.. Feeling like I’m dying of heat exhaustion, and everyone is complaining they can’t sleep. I start using my towel to try to fan the cute little old lady near me and they were all laughing. But seriously, the lady look like she might faint. Travelling life is always interesting.
It feels like I’ve been gone for weeks but now I am home sweet home in Lviv after having such an interesting experience. Spending everyday in Maidan, also volunteering. I was pushing for everyone in the hostel to come out and join me. Boring people just sitting around on their computers in the lounge room.
I am happy to still see so many thousands of people out supporting. I’m impressed by everyone who has donated so much food and clothing to those out in the cold. And I am so flipping proud to have Ukrainian heritage, lucky to have taken part in this important revolution. I really love this country! Слава Укаїни!!!
